Reflections

When we look into our mirror
Who's the face we see
Visions of our yesterday
Of What we used to be

We see the faults and failures
That the game of life has caused
Or is it just a dim mirage
That time has somehow paused

Our dreams of future victories
That we've hidden in our heart
Or nightmares of a forgotten past
That tears our soul's apart

It's only life's reflections
Of a time that's passed us by
For the one that's looking back at you
Is only just a lie

Larry, I love the double meaning your title conveys. That was very clever. A thought provoking poem that I enjoyed reading. Blessings, Connie
