Reflections

I sift through the sands of time 
Trying to find some peace of mind 
Like visions on a crystal lake 
The memories are hard to take 
The future lies veiled and still 
Waiting silently for my promise to fulfill
I see a child alone and afraid 
A teenager who was so brave
A young woman unsure but free
The vision whirls and I see me
