Reflection In Twilight

I stand here on the precipice of my life's darkness with a clarity of thought Find a mirror of my years lay on the surface of my mind below, emotions hide deeper I wonder if there should be more and what would more look like Muddled from decisions and choices by human folly that gave an emotion's coat to wear in all seasons I stare into my mirror...find silence my mind's surface covered in ripples from memories truths bent by graying years and measured time where thoughts were given to tomorrow and yesterdays were left along deserted roads traveled on by people I had met along the way with their own follies I can't help but think...to what end What does it all mean and to whom now in life's twilight before it's dark 10/7/18 contest I Stand Here

Your deep contemplative poem captivates me, dear Frederic, from your thoughtful and meaningful title to your melancholy-tinged introspection of metaphoric beauty. Exquisite poetry so beautifully expressed. Warmest wishes my wonderful friend.. ~Susan
