Reflection
Looking in the mirror
the painful truth I see.
I can't believe the man I am
is looking back at me.
How many carefree moments
Hide behind those eyes?
How many brokenhearted nights
does that subtle smile disguise?
Mirror, hanging on the wall,
not even you reflect it all.
As I look at you, do I really see
the man who lives inside of me?
Unforgotten pages
of verse from long ago
are not reflected in the gaze
as cold as winter snow.
I see a bitter teardrop
that tells me I can't win.
And I question not where tears begin
but, just where do they end.
