Reflection

People always tell me that I look alright,
That my visage is a very pleasant sight,
But why, then, when I look at my reflection,
Do I only see a monstrous complexion?

I try telling myself that this isn’t true,
For I know I have it better than most do,
And when I look around to see their faces
I know I must stand out in the right places.
