Reeling In the Years
I am reeling in the years
I have Ringing in my ears
While you gather up your tears
I have dry eyes, as do my peers
The weekly check in at the Drs.
didnt turn out as I planned
The things he said I have,
I cant even understand
I spent a lot of money
And I spent a lot of time
Left with false positives
All on my own dam dime
The price of insurance
a federal crime
The things they think important
I cant understand
Oh but I Love my precious homeland
I am reeling in the years
I have ringing in my ears
While you gather up tears
I am faced with CoVid fears
But I cant even cry
due to this gosh darn dry eye
Is this my last summer
Am I fading fast
What to grab unto
Will my toilet paper last?
The box on the wall
is full of a screaming cast
Politicals, Scientists, Zealots
Are all talking quite fast
Am I going to be part of the past?
I honestly wouldn't know a diamond
if I held it in my hand
But I see many brave people
across this vast land
To them, I say Thankyou , You are
What makes this land Grand.
May God keep you as you make your stand
P.S. Although my tears dont always flow
There's a large well in thier corners that swell
I just thought you should know.
