Reel Steel

She was called the “pride of india” Why? She was Brit-built … They that faced the mighty ocean In ironsssssssssssssss Ssss…Slugs but for the mighty wind Blowing, blowing, blowing Rolling over that ominous ocean The men of steel! No wheels…. but they reeled…. in Goods worth more than gold From India and all around Back to that mighty crown Not steel, but gold! Dotted with colored gems The real steel… Could have done for themselves Instead, did for that crown Soft as down… Why? The abyss knows steel melts to molten tears and the brewing cauldron knows the rust bucket… (10/31/21)

A tribute to the sailing ship, Star of India? I toured it in San Diego when I was stationed there many years ago.
