Notes About The Poem

    Joseph's Alliterisen Contest ~ 9/2/26

Redundant Rhythm of a Ticking Clock

Redundant rhythm of tick tock
Acrid annoyance on this dismal day
Time travels at a prompt pace
Its hastening hands will swiftly spin
Fast forward... clicking clock
Tacit tongue like Poe's pendulum
With gripping grasp, the Swinging stopped

You know me and my attachment to Poe. It began with dark overtones that made me think of the Tell Tale Heart and the Pit and the Pendulum... I had to mention him. Thanks a lot, Tom.🌹

Thanks, Dotti. It's a new form, so I thought I'd give it a try.
