Redorangeyellowgreenblueindigoviolet

If red
And blue
Were to waltz
What would happen?
I think that’s how the color purple was made.

Dance after dance
Color after color
Yellow and red left orange footsteps on
The palette dance floor.

Blue and green
Created a color used best
For painting the foam from
The clashing waves

And red and blue
Fire and ice
Both burn
Leave a heartstain on your
Retina
Made a color for royalty

And now I dance with
The personification of blue
And you dance with
The red sea

Together, the
Marange, the
Waltz, the
Tango.
Under a raised eyebrow
You’ve got a paint brush between your teeth
And I throw my head back laughing

But I don’t want to create a purple
It’s already been done
Lets create
Redorangeyellowgreenblueindigoviolet

A color
The blind can see
And
The deaf can hear

Let’s dance
To paint with
us.
