Congratulations on your win, Anaya! Love this most creative tribute to those who serve, have served and have given everything to keep the flag flying! I agree with Oliver, elegant in its simplicity! Blessings.

Anaya, thanks for the salute to all those with honor who gave up everything for our freedom. I also like how the flag is waving too. We don't appreciate these people enough. This kind of sacrifice has a very sad side for the families and lost possibilities.

Love how your words display the flag. Very creative. Love your new pic. If I remember correctly, in your bio pics you have dark hair. The blonde really has it going on! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

CC, you are correct and that is why I posted one with one side black and the other blond, the truth is, i sported auburn red most of the 80's-90's Always space to reinvent oneself, why not? as a kid, my mom picked me up from school i was embarrassed because she colored her hair auburn, i so regret that now, my poor mom, it was popular Ann Margret, Carol Burnette, Lucy! etc. ha really? Ok until i dye it again lol. Ty Happy Mother's Day Cay Cay ~ xhugs

Happy Memorial Day! I am a proud American, but I know we have faults, too. I hate any injustice no matter who they say they are. <3 Have a beautiful day!

I was thinking of Besma as I wrote the reply and was about to add unless they want to wear it as respect. IE eg. My grandmother wore a black lace veil, we were Catholic. This is about the terror these poor women endure, not about fashion. :) I'm delighted that you are speaking out for the Muslim people, i adore you for that :D

Dear anaya, theres nothing wrong with a society or country that is Muslim and prefers burka or hijab: it doesnt define ones freedom: my mother wears hijab but she is very free in life! No one can tell her what to say what to do or how to live: but sometimes i wonder what exactly is freedom? When some are afraid to even freely express their inner self! America surely is a different country and war should not be encouraged anywhere in any religion. Happy mothers day dear anaya! Sending you light

Yes! IE, i want to remind all that the American flag stands for freedom. We are not a country which encumbers our women with burkas and (hijabs<-- mistake) and denies them all opportunity. Although we are on the wrong track now, the world has an American Pope who is asking for no more wars! Ty sweet Empress (happy mothers day)
