Beautiful red rose
Enticing the eyes to hold
Long stem, full of thorns

Eve, Congratulations on Poem of the Day!! I can see why -- this is a beautiful Haiku write with strong imagery . . . "full of thorns" . . . How appropriate. Best Wishes Always, Gary

Yep so true Eve! You've depicted the Rose, so well, my sweet dear friend. It's symbolically much similar to love, beautiful, but full to the brim with heartbreak, sorrow and thorns. Rose is my very favorite flower, you know, the red ones. Lol...Beautiful haiku! Love and congrats on having your poem chosen for poem of the day. ;) God bless you! Xxxx D.

Jan, my husband has never bought me flowers, but he does spoil me with other things. But my boys and grandchildren have and they do mean the world to me when I do get them.
