Red Paper Heart

I’ll write our initials
On this red paper heart
That I cut out today
Just for you

MG loves LG
Forever and always
And a fancy arrow
That shoots right through

I’ll fold it in half
Then again for good measure
‘Til lines crease it
This way & that

I’ll find a big book
Put it between the pages
And pray that it gets
Nice & flat

And on our special day
Many years from now
A red heart
I’ll unwrap for you

The initials the same
Never fading through time
And a fancy arrow
That shoots right through
