Recollection

When the day finally came
For me and you to say goodbye
Goodbye to us and to the love we knew
Tears flowed freely.......
It all comes back to me now
Tears for love we once so cherished.

From your eyes they dropped
Like dew from the leaves in the morning
Drop after drop they fell........
They had gathered with the chill of the night
Chill and darkness that visited our hearts
In a time me and you had not prepared for.

This little voice in me
Brings you back to my recollection
Where wishes like birds fly
Playing in the skies of my mind.
Should it not have happened to us
Surely life would be different from what we have now.
