Recognize Reality
Sometimes love feels like a game
that's devoid of any rules.
And unsure of what to do,
you're obliged to play with fools.
Trust is but an illusion;
fraught with insincerity.
For life's broken promises
tend to obscure clarity.
Loneliness rallies to hope;
fearful of what fate may hold.
And you keep spilling warm tears
over a heart that's gone cold.
Recognize reality;
don't be misled by a kiss.
And clear your path of half-truths;
to find happiness and bliss.
Though it hurts to walk away,
it's your first step of many.
Yet, that pain will fade in time;
and soon, there won't be any.
