Recognize Reality

Sometimes, love feels like a game
devoid of rational rules.
And unsure of what to do,
forces you to play with fools.

Trust can be an illusion,
fraught with insincerity.
For life's empty promises,
tend to obscure clarity.

Loneliness rallies to hope,
fearful of what fate may hold.
And you keep spilling warm tears,
over a heart that's gone cold.

Recognize reality,
don't be misled by a kiss.
And clear your path of half-truths,
to find happiness and bliss.

Though it hurts to walk away,
that first step leads to many.
And your pain will fade with time,
until you won't feel any.
