Rebirth

A falling petal, content,
floating with grace and seeking eternity
finds home in a carpet of beauty.
There was no loss
when the flower shed this tear,
caressed by a cool breeze
which parted the morning mist
that the sun might smile
upon the seed uncovered,
bursting with life
and nurtured in the embrace
of yesterday's blooms.
