Rebirth

Life
soft
breath
within
a wounded heart
refusing to surrender
for hope whispers softly
that every soul can rise again
even after the longest night

even after the longest night
a spark still searches for dawn
and awakens courage
in the human heart
that longs to live
once more
and
then
love
