Rebellious Wind

I've been tugged at
by rebellious wind today
it whispered political things
I couldn't grasp
pushing me over cliffs
then helping me to fly!

A bird went to hide
off in the protected zone
but my presence scared him
into the light
he was white
with a yellow streak
down his back
glistening in the sun
feathers ruffled
for sure.

That wind!
It tugged at my heart
almost toppling me over
though I am sure footed.

The bird was sure footed also
though maybe too nervous to fly.

I longed to see its wings.
