Reality Sometimes Hits Hard

There will be times in your life when you wonder where you are
Seeking direction from that Northern most star
Where do you go when it begins to crumble and fall
What happens when you can no longer stand tall
When all your dignity is stripped away
No where will you be welcomed to stay
Doors that were once opened, now slam in your face
What happens when you can't seek refuge in that special place
All of a sudden, in the blink of an eye, you lose it all
A vision once so clear is now opaque through a crystal ball
Where does life take you from here
Everything is so distant you once held so dear
When the deck is dealt, who has the better cards
This all happens when reality hits hard
