Reality Eclipsed By Fantasy
I used to play 'make-believe'
a wonderful way to try to live
the life of a singer or a movie star
a way to expand who you are
I knew it was pretend, of course
just as I knew I wasn't a horse
In retrospect, there was no danger
no parents or politicians to anger
Now I look around and see
reality eclipsed by fantasy
boys play house, pretend to be
girls... then enter this plea:
Mommy, Daddy, I want to be a girl
I hate my body - I want curves and curls
Parents cry, don't know what to do
Society decrees ~ 'procedure goes' through
