Reality and Illusion

Life never easy,
Totally unpredictable.
Today you feel
You have it there
In the palm of your hand.
All wrapped up
Knowing what you're doing,
Where you're going
With your plans
And your schemes....

Then the winds of change blow
And all your tomorrows
Gone in an instant.
Leaving just the illusion
Of what once was.
Along with
Broken dreams,
Fallen images,
And the harsh reality
Of life itself.

And only the tools
Gained from the experience
Of yesterday's
Pain and tears
Will allow you
To pick up the pieces.
And put together
Another dream.
So that life goes on.

I gotta tell ya', this one did it for me! Definitely a cool piece of work! I don't get the chance to read much on this site anymore, but I am glad I have taken the time to do so today.
