Reality

It cost too much to live
it cost too much to die
the struggle is somewhere in between
 High taxes
loss of jobs
no health insurance
The rich has become my tormentor
working me as a slave
my load is designed for ten men
 My tears are without color
politics are without emotion
seeking their own interests
The road to change is injuring many
the rich wade war
the poor lay down their lives
 Hoping children will never see
the pain of this life
the lies we tell them, they no longer believe
Weigh my soul against the weight of gold
many would change for the price
selling their soul
 Impossible to ignor
but many look away
refusing to feel
 Giving up before they try
going on living this lie
prepared to die for it
A life that benefit the few
they bathe with my tears
dry themselves with my shame
 Afraid to look at themselves
but so quick to condemn strangers
for their road to the top
