Real To Me

You are so real to me
I can reach out and touch your face
Feel your warmth against my fingertips
Taste your kiss on my lips
The scent of you lingers
Hanging in the air
A shadow on the wall
Causes me to turn my head
Your presence
But when I look behind me
In front of me
All around
I cannot see you
No one can see you
But I can feel you
They think me quite mad
For seeing something that isn’t there
They whisper and taunt me
Teasing, tearing words, wounding
It doesn’t matter to me
Not knowing you is
Their loss
I know you
I feel you
I know you’re there
And you are real to me
