Real People's Lives
Remember to look him in the face when
you stab him in the back.
Remember to look deep in his eyes as his
whole livelihood departs.
You know you’ve got to look her in the eyes,
the mother of the sick child.
You’ve broken her with all your lies, with all
those helping hands you’ve chopped off at
the arm.
Remember how hard this lady worked for all
those years. Doing work you see as beneath
you and your counterparts because it’s honest,
low paid and demands blood, sweat and tears.
You know you’ve got to look her in the eyes
now you’ve broken what dreams she had. You
take her pension at the click of your fingers
and make her work more when she has
worked so many years, so damn hard.
Remember these are REAL PEOPLE who have to
live their REAL lives. Remember you make their
lives so much harder with all your lies.
You’ve got to listen to the moon in the dark of
the night, you’ve got to close your eyes and hear
the cries of your austerity scream as you break
REAL peoples lives.
