Ready to Come Home
I would like to come home
But I don’t know the way.
Send a map and a key
And I’ll start out today.
I’ve been living alone.
Turned my back on my friends.
One encouraging word,
All the loneliness ends…
It’s all falling apart.
Built upon shifting sand.
I’ve been thinking of you.
Won’t you reach out your hand?
I took all that I could.
Tossed it out to the wind.
I could stay where I am…
More than I want to spend.
My life’s in disarray.
Time to clean up the mess.
Send a mop or a broom.
I’ll start working, I guess.
I thought life was a game.
I believed I could win.
Let that all fade away…
And a new one begins.
Bridges have been burned behind me.
Hiding where no one can find me.
But it’s over now. I’m ready. Ready to come home.
Walls are tumbling down around me.
Seems Fate has finally found me.
So, it’s over now. I’m ready. Ready to come home.
