Reading
The reading is the hardest bit
To finish it with out a fit
Of giggles from the waiting crowd
As I try to speak out loud
A poem that I know so well
I’m nervous yet I try to quell
The feeling I’ve forgotten it
I’ll have to make it up a bit
How did it go again ?
That verse about the rain
Just throw in an extra rhyme
To try and buy a little time
The poem that I tried to read
From my mind, it has been freed
And though I may have missed a bit
I think I got away with it
