Reaching Towards the Heavens

Reaching towards the heavens My soul in unbelievable pain Try as I might I can't find peace My being cries to hold you again I can never forgive myself Its my fault, I can't forget It left a broken woman A life meaningless I regret I have no right to shed a tear How you must hate me so I should have left but didnt I stayed, I did not know Thought what more could he do Thoughts that were mistaken My heart cries for you always In the end to leave me shaken Now my arms are empty My payment for my sin This is my hell the ultimate price never to hold you again Destined to live without you I pray and hope the angels, tell you my love is true So reaching towards heaven How I miss and love you Son how can I ask forgiveness I comitted a mothers unthinkable sin I was suppose to keep you from harm There is no atonement for this sin So forever reaching towards heaven Hoping to hold you once again My son Treyvon Anthony 6/15/97 - 6/15/97

A beautiful poem, that shows a mother's love which is the strongest love of all.

Such a moving and sad piece Brenda, it breaks one's heart to read it and want to bring you comfort, indeed as said before you've been through so much and deserve a break of good things but trust you take comfort of being reunited in heaven one day. Blessings and hugs, Gordon

Gordon thank you so much! But you know there are others who have been through more than I have! So I am just thankful for all I was able to learn in this life!;)

All sentient thought, great or small, is simpy an integral part of the very universe itself...for what would be the purpose of a universe, however grand or splendid, if there was nothing there to wonder at it all? A life is just that: a fleeting consciousness that ultimately returns to the eternal collective...and to one day muse again through a different set of eyes. Nothing ever truly perishes; death is the death of the body...not an immortal soul. Your son will "wonder" again: it is ordained.

Nothing like a mothers love, each child is special, seems like he never made it after birth, so sad, my heart breaks for you!

He did make it after birth but only for a bit! I gave birth to him at home alone, after his father beat me severally! Thank you John!;(

Brenda, one needs not be in your arms to be held by your love. do not be so harsh on yourself dear. Your son will and no doubt always was held by you, this poem proves that. We steer our children in the right directions, how they choose to ride is their own choice. We as parents, hope for the best, but we also have our own lives to live.

Not your fault. I know this one close up. Lovely write, full of passion and pain, but be lifted. Our children are not ours, they are His. We just get them for a while. He takes them home sometimes, but we get to see them again... then... God Bless you and hold you dear... Ann
