Reachin' Back In Time
Just me and Johnny Walker, laughin' --
reachin' back in time.
We're talkin' 'bout a yesterday
that we left behind.
We both had many good times --
and the girls, they were so kind --
But I see Johnny's doin' the laughin'
While I reach back in time.
And just as long as he is here
I'll keep on lookin' back.
So I smoke up all my cigarettes
and buy another pack.
I know that when tomorrow comes
we'll try it one more time ---
with ol' Johnny doin' the laughin'
while I reach back in time.
Just Johnny does the laughin'
while I look behind.
He tries to lead me back a ways
to a better time.
I know he knows I'll be here
on up till closin' time ---
and he just keeps on laughin'
as I reach back in time.
And just as long as he is here
I'll keep on lookin' back.
