Reach Out

I reach out to touch something real
A solid foundation
A root so deep
I can't dig it out
I reach out for something real
To hold me down
To comfort these ill travels
The ones where I end up lost
There was a time
Reckless abandon
I invited it in like an old friend
I find no peace in being alone
My age wrinkled in memories
I struggle to surface
Where there is a breath of fresh air
A wish I wake from slumber
It's in this lifetime.....
