Notes About The Poem

Reach Out

Reach out...

to friends, even old ones
you've lost contact with.
Now is the perfect time
to reconnect, to reopen
lines of communication.

Be the voice of reassurance for them
Let them know that all will be right
with the world again. Let them see you
from afar, so they know you're...
 physically okay, and vice versa.

Reach out...

when you find yourself lost
at sea with no sense of direction;
turn to the wise for clarity when
you're struggling to make sense
out of a world in disarray.

Your relationship with God means
much more in trying times like these.
Get to know God better. Seek refuge
in him; strengthen your faith.
Never forget the power of prayer!

Reach out...

to your neighbors. Remind them
you're just a stone throw away;
to come to you should they need
someone with whom to share a laugh,
someone to talk to.

As we continue to quarantine ourselves
during this COVID-19 pandemic,
we must also continue to maintain
daily human connection. After all,
we're all in this together!

Reach out, in times like these.
