I have seen the ravages of this disease within my family - mother, sister, son.

Ravenous thief infiltrating the depth of our souls stealing from us the eyes of our children silencing the joy of their smiles demanding a ransom for each moment Chameleon curse mutating in the midst of battle clandestine coward seeking escape within the ruins of the ravaged Unwelcome usurper draining life cowering at the sight of a pink ribbon deafened by the sound of love’s footsteps shuddering at the scent of whispered wishes trembling at the touch of hope’s embrace haunted by the roar of our silent prayer John G. Such a moving write John - I had tears in my eyes reading this poem. I saw the cancer eat away at my father - thankfully my husband's cancer was diagnosed early and his treatment had been successful. I hope that in the future all cancer can be diagnosed early and treated successfully :-) hugs Jan xx
