Rattlers and Shooting Stars

I don't chirp very much... anymore.
I prefer to showcase this journey in stanzas.
Those open-ended cages
that shooting stars and rattlers
occasionally escape from.

I choose not to be around the "them."
the earth stream is cascading with "them"
the users
the flamethrowers of hurt and abuse
the spoilers of the soul
Polluters of good dreams.

I prefer to nest in a maelstrom of verse,
and songs that bleed out into shadows.
