Rather Be Lonely

I'd rather be lonely than have a fake friend as a homie
I'd rather be lonely, than have a girl who doesn't care hold me
I'd rather be lonely than give my heart to you
I'd rather be lonely, because I Still have scars from you

We live in a generation where we ignore people to get their attention
Girls go on twitter and reply to their DMs and mentions
Before they reply to the man they're supposed to be with
I won't give love another shot, I threw away the clip

Loyalty no longer exists in love
Hiding texts, and finding flings in clubs
Real people with true intentions are hard to come by
I hope my tears start to become dry

Pride prevents us from telling someone how we feel
Too prideful to text them or make the first move
Hate the entire population of that sex, because one person hurt you
We live in a generation where love is no longer real

I'd rather be lonely, because people are no longer real with their feelings
I'm working on myself and being more careful with my dealings
I know my worth now, so you'll have to work hard if you want to get to know me
I may find love again one day, but for now I'd rather be lonely

So painfully true, and so beautifully written. Truly touched my heart
