Rarity
January 5th, 2014
The first time Tennessee's seen snow since..
Hell, I can't even remember
When I noticed the crystalline powder cocooning my car
I went into the front yard
And felt the crunching of dead grass under my shoes
I scooped up a handful of snow
And placed it on my tongue
I let it melt
And run down my throat slowly
I lay down
And let snowflakes collect in my hair
And let my hands go numb
And let my heartbeat slow
I understood what it was whispering to me
"I come very rarely
So let yourself mold
Into my icy embrace"
