Ranting

The more I try
The more I fear
That I'll hear
Let's just be friends
Or be put on a shelf
Like a toy
To be used and abused
When it pleases someone else
Should I like it
Should I hate it
Should I even give a damn
Should I be someone else's puppet
Or should I take a stand
And demand respect
Or wear my heart around my neck
Paint a target on it
With a sign that reads "Who's next?"
Am I obsessed
No just depressed
The say a love lost
Makes the heart strong
I say a love lost
Means I've done wrong
Bouncing like a ping pong ball
Off the wall
Between love and heartbreak
Too close to make the call
