Rambling Rose

RAMBLING ROSE

Struggling towards the light amongst
the weeds and cast-off junk
it’s survival a minor miracle
in these deprived surroundings
the solitary rose bends and twists
to find a place to flourish
from where did it come? Who planted the seed?
does it matter?

for it is seen, noticed and admired
for its drive to exist
amongst a landscape of broken,
discarded and unwanted debris
it blooms a thing of rare beauty
a testament to determination and courage
bringing hope, joy, happiness
and much needed inspiration
so, yes it matters

Dilys like some people in life they only get noticed when they bloom, I like the format better on this one being to the left, it scans much better.......well done..David
