Rainy, Rainy Life Revised

RAINY RAINY LIFE revised Verse 1 Rainy, rainy life... Blowing cold winds ...even in my dreams, Colors gone, even evergreens... I think about the joy, I had with you Verse 2 Now grey dwells within my soul... Nothing exists to fill the hole, Seeds were planted ...but they cannot grow In sterile, barren and forgotten soil Chorus Daily I will pray... for strength to face, another day Tomorrow's a turning world away I can't think about it now... Your mem'rys forever burned in my mind... Unchanged with passing time Verse 3 Rainy, rainy life... pictures of the love we shared... Mem'rys of loved one's that cared My eyes see everything, but now I'm blind... Verse 4 Life's been to me so unkind People look and they stop and stare.... a homeless man , traveling to nowhere... Standing watching cars pass in the pouring rain. Chorus Daily I will pray... for strength to face, another day Tomorrow's a turning world away I can't think about it now... Your mem'rys forever burned in my mind... Unchanged with passing time Chorus Repeat and fade John Derek Hamilton September 10,2016 revised November 19,2021

Dear John, your gifted pen was dipped in a deep well of despair as the ink flows with a profound sense of sadness expressed with aching finesse. Your emotional imagery takes my breath away.. "Colors gone, even evergreens" - so potent with poignancy of the overwhelming grey within your soul.. and, "a homeless man , traveling to nowhere... Standing watching cars pass in the pouring rain" - such powerful imagery of loneliness, helplessness and of being left behind and left out of life. The unbearable sense of loss is viscerally felt in your compelling lyric, my friend. I hope your ok and back with us soon. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Thanks Susan for your generous comments, this was a fave of mine brought back and revised for a song, got my composer working on the music so things are looking up. I'm doing fine thanks for your concern, just not too inspired lately. Take care JD
