Raining in Summer

Listen to poem:
Written: May 22, 2024 For Ink Empress Contest ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Whispering breeze waltzes through trees, Petrichor essence is carried by its tease, before the rainstorm, summer symphony starts breathless, it falls akin to heavenly tears tingling on skin earlier warmed and sun-kissed puddles cast and evaporate silver haze was ethereal and mystical       cossetting sad at heart. Thunder briskly roars louder.  angry skies howl lightning shatters the sky dazzling heat envelopes the air sun-kissed whispering  through parched pastures rehydrating the ground kinopsia, dyed, bold currents stormy rain continues trees sway as views vanish hills whirl with a vibrant ballet rain relieved the heat flowing across fields lightly with a dynamic beat. Morning storm strolling flowing on flooded sidewalks counting fading raindrops puddles bubble and steam indicating the briefness of life... On the front porch, the rooftop roars with rain gutters pulsate with water rainwater floods the eaves forming ripples on the grass the damp summer air cools waterfalls of rain across hills and valleys water beads amid wild flora fall as white diamonds conspicuous doors and windows I listen to rain singing I shut my eyes as rain collects in puddles sharp metal pattern dull concrete sound drumming oleander leaves gently. downhill across a silky valley behind a barren slope drifting with the storm revived views glide  illuminated by gold twilight will appear shortly amethyst rainbow is exquisite violet dream-scapes fly exposed radiant scarlet as hazy languid frowns and wanes revealing an idyllic day  breaking tenebrous haze  sadness fades firmly deathly agony of missing time  crimson etching on a gray quilt nature’s opium  each drop falling from above  reminds me of life's constant love just as rain nourishes our land love gently nurtures our hearts.

SP, you have a beautiful way to describe rain and its effect on the surroundings. I am struck by the tribute to all the wonderful things that occur. The way you equate nourishing rain to love at the end touches my heart. You have such a romantic eloquent voice when you do something like this. Making me smile again!!!
