Raining Iguanas

It’s raining iguanas; They’re falling from trees. So strap on the headgear, ‘Cuz it’s fixing to freeze. Next week, there’s a blizzard; There’s already talk. They’re expecting gators, But that’s just a croc. If turtles get added To this wintry mix, You’d best watch those bones, They’ll be snapping like sticks! Barometer’s falling; Call the doc, goodness sakes! I’m getting quite anxious Just thinking of snakes. I might have to blue pill This arctic-cold blast. This reptile dysfunction: I hope it won’t last.

Hahaha Jeff. Now I have to read one of yours titled "Box Turtle"... Question: by saying, "... have to blue pill"... Are you referring to the Matrix red pill blue pill? I love the word play, and this poem holds up for a day like today... It's going to be close to 35°F this morning :(

A little word play, yes - matrix red/blue, or possibly the "little blue pill" that solves all the problems of men when their barometer is falling, lol
