Rainfall 


Once brilliant afternoon, gives way to fast moving grey clouds in  the sky
Dark clouds encircles, changing daylight to dusk within the blink of an eye
Within the sky, heavy dark clouds, you watch the fearful explosions of light
Gasping for your breath, the explosions of thunder making you jump in fright

Lightest of raindrops, feeling that first drop of rain
Uncertain fleeing, will it pass or be a torrid storm
The rainfall begins, seeking shelter as you remain
Suddenly skies open up, storm takes on new form

Rainfall so robust, making it difficult to see far
Watching small rivers form as whirlpools appear
Washing away sand and sediments from afar
Deepest of rainfalls, steady deluge is all you hear

Rainfall so profound, sitting watching the steady fall
Gazing at the rainfall, tucked away from harm
A feeling comes over me that chills and calms all
As if all my inner defences suddenly disarm

Rainfall so steady, listening to the rhythmic beat 
Watching the force of raindrops that fall from high 
Rainfall so heavy, trees and leaves feeling defeat
Ground soaked, water pools from a darkened sky

Rainfall begins to ease as the storm moves away
Sun arrives once again, sparking leaves shimmer
The heat starts to rise, as it began earlier today
Rainfall and storms, suddenly lost within a glimmer
