Notes About The Poem

A poem written with the inspiration of my previous contest, Rainy Days and on the new word I've learned, "Petrichor".

Raindrops

silver strings play through lightning
in a tuneful duo with rolling thunder sound
the raindrops bounce and jiggle
pounding and bouncing
in a rocking band
petrichor ascends
from a thirsty ground
saturates
like music
penetrates into my soul
each sound of nature
breath, listen, live and love it
a sheer joy and morsel of life which nurture

What an amazing word. A great poem, in a land where rain is scarce, it's nice to be reminded of how it smells and feels.

Hi Leonora! This is such a lovely poem!Your raindrop strings remind me of a harp, and your fingers make lovely music thanks to your fertile imagination. I love the scent of rain, especially the first rains after the dry summer. (you might be interested in my poem 'pluviophile'.) hugs // paul

Thank you so much for your very wonderful feedback my dear friend Andrea. Yeah, I think most things in life make sense, so let's be happy, appreciate the weather and whatever life may offer since it is ephemeral my dearest friend. Thank you so much! Big hugs!

Yeah, it is my dear friend Daver, but let's enjoy the rain if there's no sunshine; for life is ephemeral. By the way, the meaning of petrichor based from my reading is a smell of the ground after the rain. Thank you so much again. Hugs!
