Rainbow
Piercing the dark and striking down the sky
A streak of lightning cuts a thorny route to earth,
Defines the bare silhouettes of trees and homes
That hug the earth like frightened kids drawing
Support from a loving mother, the mother earth.
The rain has stops but the droplets from the sky
Hang limp and cold across the sky to paint an arch
Of such infinite celestial beauty, shape and color:
Humanity loves and celebrates the celestial sight.
Children at school learn with amazement the truth
The seven colors, vibgyor for short, are not so apart
But unite and geld to form the purest colour
Of mother’s milk, of a bride’s attire, all white.
From nature to us the lesson all colors are fine.
It is not the skin projects the inherent grandeur
Of the human personality, nor features nor height:
In their grace and compassion human beings shine.
