Rain In the Night

Rain in the night

Rain in the night brings peace
A primal thirst quenched
As the earth is quenched
The patter of raindrops on the roof
Is the sound of a gift being unwrapped
The frogs sing their pleasure
As I settle in anticipation
Of a clear bright dawn

G'day Belden ... it's such a delightful sound, rain on a tin roof. I could easily picture your poem Belden - Lindsay

I especially like 'the sound of a gift being unwrapped.' Kudos, Gershon
