Rain and Wind From the Hurricane

Sighing pines, oaks rustle Acorns fall in a bustle Winds constantly stir nature's crops Hurricane outer bands over the top
It was considered a tropical depression when it got to our area. We got some wind, some really nice rain, and a lot of fallen leaves and acorns. We needed the rain.

Hi Sara, I'm happy to hear you and yours are safe from the hurricane. I've only once experienced a wind shear and that was scary enough for me. Great descriptive poem. Take care, Nancy

Those high winds no matter the source are very frightening. I have never been in wind so strong that it was really scary, but I can imagine it would be something that would be a lasting memory. Thank you for dropping by. Sara

Glad you received some much needed rain and nothing more than that... We don't experience hurricanes up here in Wisconsin, but I can picture it while reading this descriptive write... Great work, Sara!

I am glad that you don't experience hurricanes up there as well. What we get here 3 hours from the coast is usually wind and rain sometimes the effect will be spun off tornadoes. Sometimes it can be some very strong winds. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Valsa, It wasn't good for Florida because they had just had the one that was so destructive and then the second one. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Yes, Harry, an insight since I was there. Acorns and leaves would pelt the roof of the house and our new dog was terrified. She wants to take on a Great Pyrene mix and over at the Kennel(humane society) where we got her, she would try to go after three large dogs who were penned up, but she is afraid of the sound. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Gershon, No one in their right mind would want a hurricane even those of us who live far enough away that we usually don't get really bad weather but sometimes they spawn tornadoes, or the combination of wind and rain brings down some dangerous trees. I appreciate the humor in your comment to make it light. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Nice Quatrain, Sara. We had much the same effect from the effects of Nicole. A very wide reaching storm. Hugs, SuZ
