Rain
I’m so lost within this cloud
of thought.
Why must I try to find love
When it’s like trying to capture a star.
I know that I’m to blame for chasing
something that will inevitably will find me.
That, however, doesn’t make the pain
any easier to deal with.
The rain starts to fall harder, now
as I grow closer to the end,
And I’m drowning in the undertow.
I struggle desperately to stay afloat,
searching diligently to find dry land,
But, in vain, for there is no comfort in sight.
I look skyward toward Heaven:
Praying for God’s merciful Love,
but my pain subsides for just a moment.
It rains on the just as well
As the unjust, but which am I?
