Rain

The rain fell on the trees and buildings Of a lonely city. I sat and watched hundreds of men, women, and children Walk like robots Never connecting. Then a tiny speck of blue sky came out of hiding A tiny child laughed One by one people began to smile And in an instant The city was transformed.
