Rain

I can smell it, Its soft metallic scent, Mixing with the raw smell of dirt and grass, Everything around me welcomes it, Finally, Relief from the scorching sun, The timid drizzle morphs into a powerful downpour, The sound of the crashing drops drowns out all of my thoughts, Filling my head like static, Until I'm just there, Just existing, And nothing else.
