Racism
I have never felt your pain
your deep, deep rooted agony
Color we say is just that
it shouldn’t make a difference
But it does, doesn’t it
to you, deeply to you
within, without
Your pain became
part of life, excepted
rolled in, lived in
Identity is possibly everything
to all of us, but your identity
Pre judged
I have never understood
your dreams, your wants
your story
Of who you really, really are
History wrote that thought
for the world, and we just
didn’t get it, don’t get it
The pain, the ingrained
attitude
Of feeling less than
Lower than, and never
Equal!
