Racism

I’m really becoming concerned,
For my brown and black friends that are not being heard.
Their voices matter.
It really concerns me.
That we’re all heard, for all of eternity.
The same haunting voices keeping the hate going.
The same old tropes. The things that destroy us.
The awful things we repeat.
The things that cause so much misunderstanding and heat.
This disease within us.
If we can’t cure it.
It will ultimately be a cancer.
That kills us!

But...
Think of a world,
Where everyone’s passions, ideas and knowledge,
Were all considered, all inclusive.
Can you imagine the huge strides we would make
In science, art, politics, medicine and more.
Instead of using maybe,
Thirty percent of the population’s ability.
We could have all of everyone’s capacity.
I wish for the latter, it would be so much incredibly better.
