Racism
Racism?
Why can’t we learn from children?
Innocent and free,
Seeking out adventures
In all the things they see.
Making friends with everyone,
And the stories that they bring,
Knowing black and white,
Means wrong or right,
Not the colour of someone’s skin!
Why can’t we learn from children?
Living for today,
Contented in the little world,
Created by their play.
Laughing in the sunshine,
The happiness it brings,
Where they depend,
On every friend,
Before the prejudice begins!
Why can’t we learn from children?
Why let that magic go?
Instead of thinking negative,
That makes the bias grow.
The world could stand together,
If we saw the good,
Children do it easily,
I wish the adults could!
