Rachel and Archibald

Archibald the blue heeler was a loyal one
Frolicking with his pal Rachel under the Southern sun
Up for a game and a lick to the face
Running around outside was their place

And Rachel McCrow was called to the blue
To do her duty and to be true
She lost her life to the murderer’s gun
Passing as heroes with her partner Matthew their lives undone

When the blue gathered to honour them
Archibald was in the front for his friend
He waited patiently until the service had ended
And then went home without her now his love extended.
